Autodesk AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) Application Engineer 

Autodesk Africa is looking for an autonomous and resourceful technical guru to join us in our quest to change our customers’ world through technology and innovation.
You must be ridiculously passionate about technology, especially Autodesk Revit and sustainable design.  This is a pivotal role for an ambitious, highly enthusiastic, naturally eager individual who is excited at the thought of working in a fast-paced environment and that can handle the stress of being the go-to technical resource. In this role you will demonstrate your mental prowess as you coordinate a diverse flow of projects and initiatives.

 

You will work closely with Autodesk using the latest products available on the market and implementation of the products, obtaining hands-on experience and working in parallel with the most influential companies in the industry. This will give you the opportunity to increase your industry knowledge and it will be great learning curve to learn the best possible workflows and standards related to the industry.
 
You may be asked to attend the Autodesk University conference or any other required to improve your technical knowledge and see the latest developments on the latest products.
 
You will also get the opportunity to be part of the Beta testing team to test the upcoming software release and work closely with Autodesk to improve the products functionality. 
 

Autodesk AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) Application Engineer 

An AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) Application Engineer provides pre-sales and technical services in the Building design industry.
 
You need to be able to effectively define, build and deliver Company solutions to meet customer needs. To provide technical implementation services leadership to help drive successful adoption of Autodesk AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) product solutions and applications. 
Including presales and post sales consultancy, training and support as required.
 
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Analyse client’s business requirements and objectives.
  • Define client process and workflow analysis, as well as prepare documentation.
  • Develop project implementation plan and schedule.
  • Obtain approval of system design, functional and technical specifications and other project deliverables prior to configuration development activities.
  • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organised presentations.
  • Provides post-sales technical support and training services.
Job Specifications
  • 5-10 years of working experience in the Architectural/ building industry.
  • BS in Architecture / Architectural technician or relevant extensive project design experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in implementing BIM or 3D design solutions.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication, presentation, organisation, planning and project management skills.
  • Initiative with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Process and Workflow analysis skills and direct experience.
  • Strong business acumen, high energy, self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
  • Product knowledge of Autodesk AEC solutions and experience with the following software packages preferred: AutoCAD Architecture, Revit Architecture, Revit MEP, Revit Structure, Navisworks and Ecotect Analysis.
